A few words about us
Dudley CIL promotes the active participation of Disabled people in all aspects of society. We plan to do this by:
- Ensuring maximum choice for Disabled people by securing the necessary facilities and support.
- Promoting full inclusion of Disabled people in all aspects of society.
- Campaigning locally for all Disabled people's human and civil rights.
- Representing the views and aspirations of Disabled people in Dudley
- Implementing an action plan to achieve basic rights of Disabled People.
- Building a strong, active and informed membership.
- Consulting with, involving and engaging Dudley CIL members in all aspects of the organisation and create a sense of belonging.
- Empowering Disabled people.
- Encouraging young Disabled people to be involved in the organisation.
All our activities will be underpinned by the principles of the Social Model of Disability which states that people are Disabled due to attitudes, behaviours and barriers in society rather than by their impairments.
We aim to become a borough-wide, democratic organisation run and controlled by Disabled people. We want to be recognised as a body to be properly consulted at all times on issues affecting Disabled people.
